Segment points, Variables

Arithmetic expressions by using formulas and tables can be used for defining the values of the variables. The expressions are decoded and the FE-cross sections are created based on the original cross sections and the list of variables with their current values.

Predefined functions referring to stations in segment points are available. (see form ).

SettingDescription
Point series

To make the input easier, a series of points can be selected. The numbers of the first column in the segment point list have to be used in the edit boxes.

Modify Variable
Attention: By clicking any row of the variable lists or by pressing the Modify tool above the variable lists, a input window for the assignment of expressions is offered. New expressions can be assigned to any selection of variables. All marked rows are considered for the assignment. The marked rows are highlighted with red color. Marks can be set by clicking the desired row and pressing the key <CTRL> simultaneously.
All

The simplify the assignment, the assignments of all marked rows of the left list (cross section "before") can be taken over to the right one and vice versa.

Arrow buttons

The assignment of one row of the left list (cross section "before") is taken over to the right one and vice versa. The equal named variable is searched at the other cross section.

Consistency of Variable assignments

Cross sections within a segment may vary based on a basic cross section. A cross section can contain a variable "h", other ones not or they contain "h" but with a different meaning. That's why, two possibilities of assignment are offered:

Only cross section of the same type

Only cross section having the identical basic cross section are considered. They are always having the same variables.

Search variables in the cross section

All segment points having the variables in the list of their cross sections are considered.
